And now let’s dive into Lesson Four: Asking for Answers.
This is what your Wisdom delights in – the helping of You, the improving of your life experiences, and the opportunity to add more and more joy to all that you do.
You have within you, always, access to Higher Wisdom. You have available to you answers to your questions from the most esoteric to the most mundane. Wisdom does not concern itself with what you ask, for all it concerns itself with is helping you.Â
This Higher Wisdom is always connected to you, but you are not always connected to it. It is for your benefit to learn how to access this wisdom and to stay connected with it as much as you are able.Â
Connection is easiest when you are feeling joyful. This is why we so often urge you to do the things that make you happiest. And so, if it is your desire to connect with your stream of Wisdom, we suggest choosing an activity that will bring you feelings of calm and happiness. For some that may be a walk in nature. For others it may be time spent with a pet, or it might be dancing or painting. Whatever comes to mind when you think of feeling relaxed and joyful is perfect.Â
Once you are in that state of calm and joy, relax even more by taking some deep, slow breaths. You may even wish to close your eyes if that feels natural and good. But if it doesn’t, it is not necessary to close your eyes. The most important thing is to get to, and stay, in that wonderful state of feeling happy and relaxed.Â
Clear your mind and then allow a question to bubble up naturally. Wait with every expectation that you will receive an answer. The question arose naturally, the answer will arise just as naturally. You may begin to ‘hear’ words in your mind. Or, you may begin to sense the answer in some other way. Trust it.Â
At this point you may want to write down what you hear, or speak it aloud if that feels natural. If you choose to speak aloud, we suggest using the recording function on your phone to capture the answer.Â
Do not strain for the answer. Trust that it will arrive to you fully. So much of learning how to receive this Wisdom is trusting that it is there, and that you have access to it always. Because you do.Â
You may wish to find ways of developing this relationship with Wisdom as you would with any relationship. This may involve setting aside a few moments a day to connect with your Wisdom. Some do this through meditation or prayer. Some do it through exercise. Some do it by talking to it, as they would a friend. Notice when your connection to Source feels the greatest and add more of that to your day.Â
Trust that the relationship, the connection, is there. Indeed it has been since your first breath – in fact, long, long before that moment. And trust that your connection with Wisdom will always be with you.Â
When the question you asked has been acknowledged and answered, reread it or listen back to your recording. A connection was made, however tentative or strong. Take pleasure in that.Â
Know that you are at the beginning of a steady, eternal, most Loving, useful and wonderous relationship. One capable of smoothing your way, of giving guidance, of alleviating confusion, uncertainty and loneliness. Establishing this re-connection is indeed one of your most happy days.Â
Ask and ask and ask.Â
This is what your Wisdom delights in – the helping of You, the improving of your life experiences, and the opportunity to add more and more joy to all that you do.
We love you so much,
Welcome to Lesson Four: Asking for Answers. If you missed any of the previous lessons the links can be found at the top of this post.
So far, the lessons have largely been about receiving: receiving answers, receiving wisdom and receiving guidance.
Today we are looking at the other side of your role as a channel. Instead of being entirely passive and simply receiving, today you are becoming a full and active partner in this relationship that you are developing with Source.
Maybe for you the idea of asking your Greater Wisdom questions feels entirely natural, but for me it was a revelation. Perhaps because automatic writing came into my life so spontaneously it felt like a one-way communication for me. So when I discovered that I could ask a question and be given an answer it felt like I had unlocked a superpower.Â
But what had actually happened was that I entered into a relationship with my Inner Wisdom, Guidance and Love. And I want that for you, too.Â
What I most hope that you to take from this week’s lesson is that channeling is not something bestowed on you. It truly is a relationship that you are entering into. Thinking about it this way automatically lifts it to another level because you are both needed. The channeler and the Wisdom both become necessary parts. And with that realization you suddenly show up in a new and bigger way.
So, today I want to share with you another method of communicating with Spirit that has helped me to not only get answers to my questions, but to access Wisdom in a different, and perhaps, easier way.
To do this I use Oracle cards. (If Oracle cards are new to you, they are similar to Tarot cards but easier to read.)Â I have developed a way of using Oracle cards to help facilitate channelling.Â
I encourage you to use a journal when you do this because then you will have a written record of what you channeled to refer back on. It’s always fun, and often surprising, to reread your questions and answers a week, a month, or several months later.Â
Using Oracle Cards for Channeling
First you will need an Oracle card deck. If you are new to Oracle cards I recommend Wisdom of the Oracle by Colette Baron Reid. (FYI- There are a lot of fake oracle card decks being sold on Amazon. Before you purchase from Amazon check to make sure it includes both the Oracle cards and the guidebook.)
My Method:
1.    Write down your question in your journal.
2.    Take a moment to get calm and centered. Begin shuffling the deck. When a card feels ‘right’ to you stop and turn the card face up. (I only use one card for this method.)
3.    Study the card for a moment then look it up in the guidebook and read the description of the card.
4.    Close the guidebook. Get calm and centered again. Connect with your Inner Wisdom. Now write down the answer to your question.Â
Using this method, you are going beyond whatever the guidebook said. You are using it as a starting place to access your Inner Wisdom. (You might even want to try simply looking at the card and then start writing your answer, skipping the guidebook entirely.)Â
If channeling is feeling difficult for you, or it’s coming only sporadically at this stage, this is a great method to ease your way and to strengthen your connection.Â
Remember, you are in the process of learning YOUR way to access your Inner Guidance. Explore. Have fun. And trust the answers that come to you.
Next Monday there will be our usual Dear Heart Love Soul letter and then we’ll be back next Thursday with Lesson Five of How To Be a Channel.
Until then…
Sending so much love,
Timely guidance! The way you share wisdom is so gentle. I regularly use my tarot cards for guidance and will start listening more to the voice within , too. 💫✨
